Eulogy.

Someday, under the weight of the stars

I shall crush myself, I shall crumble.

This faith of mine, undying faith,

Will have finally met its match.

And then in those penultimate moments,

I shall relive it all, from start to finish.

Embrace my regrets, nothing left

For the once I dared to dream.

Make it known to whomever when

That I was flawed, in ways more than one

Yet I never sought to be perfect

It was always a quest to be true

Falter I did, sometimes unsure

I thought too much for the other

Surmised the missing piece

When I was forsooth the golden hour.

In the knowledge of accepting,

I found my faith in you

Only my love, I couldn’t save

Homeless it chose to remain.

Despair breeds appeal, a mistake

Never fathomed my whims earnest

All I ever desired was to belong

And now I do, at last.
