DISCLAIMER: To whosoever still reads this blog, I mean no offence to you or your parents. For you, you might find their manners, the right thing to follow but from where I see it and as I've often times observed, Indian parents aren't doing parenting right. It is about time that changes.
If you have parents who are supportive of your decisions, who can tell right from wrong, who are willing to let their children follow their dreams, etc. you need not proceed. You have your life sorted pretty much. I'm extremely happy for you and I wish you all the luck in the world.
Now, if your parents don't fit into the above category, they really need to stopped. Especially if you're past your teenage and are perfectly capable of making your own life choices.
Here's where the irony lies. Our parents tell us that they do everything for our well-being (probably true) but how are we to know? This isn't a standard rule penned down in a parenting rulebook. We have to believe what they tell us. What is fed to us is always utterly convenient.
I appreciate having parents, as for many who unfortunately don't will see me as a privileged brat complaining. Maybe you are right, maybe not.

Irrespective of your sentiments, Indian parents need to evolve. Well, most of them atleast.
